  • Expect a mix of conversation practice, mini-grammar workshops, tons of new vocabulary, and fun activities built around real-world contexts and pop culture (think films, television, songs, comedy, history, etc). With small groups (max. 5 students), you’ll get plenty of chances to speak, connect, and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

  • Current class times for your region are listed on the sign up page. If you don’t see a time that is good for you, don’t worry. Just select ‘other’ and we will get in contact with you.

  • Each class is 55 minutes.

    Yak Junior classes are 25 or 50 minutes long.

  • Classes are normally once a week, at the same time that you chose during sign-up.

    If you’d like to take multiple classes or need flexible timing, please talk to us and we can help you!

  • All classes take place on Google Meet. For Chinese-only classes, we use Voov Meeting (Tencent).

  • All you need is a laptop or desktop with a working mic and camera, plus a quiet space where you can focus. A pen and notebook are strongly recommended so you can take notes and track your progress.

  • We currently teach all levels from A1 (beginner) to C2 (profiency) in the Common European Framework of Reference Languages. You’ll be placed in the right group based on your English level, so every lesson challenges you without overwhelming you.

  • Yes! For younger learners, we offer Yak Junior. These are fun, age-appropriate classes that make learning English exciting and interactive! Each class is specialised for your child because we understand every child is different.

  • Payments are made securely through Wise, Stripe PayPal, depending on your location. You can purchase lesson blocks in advance (5, 10, 15, or 20 weeks). Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive your Google Meet link and class details.

  • Absolutely - it is encouraged. If you refer a friend who signs up for at least 5 classes, you’ll earn one free class as a thank-you. There’s no limit, so you could bring 3 friends, and earn 3 free classes!

  • Yes. While Yak English is focused on fluency and communication, we also offer Yak+ custom courses for exam preparation. If you need targeted support for IELTS, TOEFL, or TOEIC, we can design a tailored program to help you achieve your goals.
